FX has accepted “The Proposal,” nabbing the TV rights to the Disney romantic comedy, which opened as No. 1 this past weekend. The cable network landed the Sandra Bullock film as part of a deal that also includes the recent Miramax ’80s comedy “Adventureland.” The pact is said to have closed a couple of weeks ago, before “The Proposal’s” big $34 million opening weekend. It takes effect in early 2012. Posted by Joanna

Sandra Bullock is Scared of Her Husband’s Driving

Sandra Bullock can’t get used to her husband’s extreme lifestyle. Sandra says although she trusts Jesse James, the star and host of Discovery’s Monster Garage, in her daily life, he still scares her half to death when he drives. “I think he is amazing at what he does,” says Sandra. “But I am fearful when he drives with me in the car on the freeway. That is when he is a horrible driver. He is horrible!” Bullock, 44, recently revealed that she did her nude scene in new movie The Proposal because she wanted to make people laugh. “I did the nude scene to make people laugh but I realize that when people are laughing at your body you just have to accept it as a good thing,” she said. “I’m trying to accept that laughing at my nakedness is a good thing.” Posted by Joanna

Sandra Bullock tops box office after 10 years

Sandra Bullock achieved her first No. 1 movie in 10 years at the weekend box office as moviegoers across the United States and Canada said yes to “The Proposal,” which also marked her biggest opening. The Walt Disney Co romantic comedy sold an estimated $34.1 million worth of tickets during the three-day period beginning June 19, the company said on Sunday. “It definitely met and exceeded our expectations,” said Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Group. “In a summer with a lot of sequels, it’s always nice to have an original movie.” “The Proposal” also earned $10 million from 10 foreign markets, with No. 1 bows in Australia ($3.3 million) and Russia ($2.8 million) leading the way. Bullock last went to No. 1 in North America with the 1999 film “Forces of Nature,” which co-starred Ben Affleck. Her previous best opening was $17.6 million for her most recent film, “Premonition,” in March 2007. The 44-year-old actress stars as a book executive who fakes an engagement to her lowly assistant (Ryan Reynolds) to avoid deportation to her native Canada. The laughs ensue when she meets his parents, with “Golden Girls” veteran Betty White stealing the show. Anne Fletcher (“27 Dresses”) directed. Disney declined to reveal the budget. Posted by Joanna

“Being A Parent Is Not About Breeding”
June 23rd, 2009 | No Comments

Sandra Bullock is a step-mom who appears content in that role. The actress is part of the village helping to raise the three children of hubby of nearly four years, Jesse James. Sandra, Jesse and Jesse’s first wife raise his two oldest children “We all parent together. It’s beautiful. It’s like synchronized swimming,” says the 44-year-old star. Jesse’s 5-year-old daughter Sunny lives full-time with the couple. Sunny’s mom, porn star Janine Lindemulder, is in prison for failing to pay taxes. Sandra has no current plans to have her own children “I may never hear that word ‘mom,’ but being a parent is not about breeding. It’s about caring. And it’s easy to say, but it’s harder to do. When you don’t have that title, you flounder and it hurts. But his is the best test of being a parent. And I just have to remind myself I don’t care what I get. I care what I give.” Well said, Sandra. Posted by Joanna

Ryan Reynolds Should ‘Be Naked All The Time’
June 12th, 2009 | 2 Comments

After a two-year vacation from the big screen, Sandra Bullock is finally back in The Proposal, opposite that leading man women die for, Ryan Reynolds. Audiences can catch Bullock in her first ever nude scene — and her hunky co-star strips down too. Sandra told Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf that after heading for the gym and watching those carbs, she didn’t hesitate to go au naturel. Taking it all off. Posted by Joanna
